About the position

The General Manager at Goldfish Swim School is responsible for overseeing the success of swim lessons by managing and training a team, coordinating class schedules, and ensuring the school operates according to established standards. This role involves fostering a positive staff culture, maintaining high-quality service, and implementing action plans to meet enrollment and operational goals. The General Manager also plays a key role in guiding new team members and families through their initial experiences at the school.

Responsibilities

  • Train, manage, and motivate a successful team of instructors.
  • Coordinate and review class schedules to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide a positive staff culture and open communication.
  • Lead daily operations according to Goldfish Swim School's standard procedures.
  • Stay on track with quarterly and annual enrollment goals.
  • Create and implement action plans when goals are off track.
  • Gain competency in class bookings, scheduling, and administrative functions.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of safety procedures and Emergency Action Plans.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in management or leadership roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train and develop staff effectively.
  • Understanding of operational procedures and standards in a swim school environment.
  • Ability to pass a basic swim test and obtain lifeguard CPR & AED certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in child care or education-related fields.
  • Background in customer service or sales.
  • Familiarity with swim lesson curriculum and safety standards.
