About the position

The General Manager - Community Manager for B.HOM Student Living is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a student housing property. This role includes managing staffing, administration, marketing, leasing, maintenance, and resident services, ensuring that all operational standards are met and maintained. The position requires strong leadership skills to train and mentor team members, as well as the ability to develop relationships with campus departments and the local community to enhance student services and marketing opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, mentor, and coach all property team members for success.
• Manage team scheduling and ensure operational standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain leasing and marketing activities and programs, participating in sales calls, tours, and presentations as needed.
• Provide guidance on student behavioral issues, mediate conflicts, and respond to resident complaints.
• Physically inspect units and common areas to ensure property standards are met and track maintenance requests for timely completion.
• Maintain budgeted marketing and leasing plans, managing costs and expenses to maximize NOI.
• Develop relationships with campus departments and organizations to target student services and marketing opportunities.
• Oversee outreach marketing efforts within the local community and manage spending for Community Ambassador organized events.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of campus departments and on-campus housing.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and strong computer technology skills, including social media use.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong customer mindset and demonstrated leadership skills.
