About the position

The General Manager of Corn Co-Products in Decatur, IL is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans for the merchandising of ADM's corn co-products. This role involves marketing finished products to achieve optimal financial results, managing commercial activities of corn germ crushing facilities, and overseeing risk management in accordance with corporate policy. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to enhance relationships and drive profitability in both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the corn co-product group business plan, including asset utilization and market development.
  • Manage marketing activities in domestic and international markets to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain ongoing communications with key corporate accounts and customers to enhance relationships.
  • Direct HR developmental activities related to the corn processing group and participate in planning and M&A activities.
  • Ensure market direction and growth through regular communication with commercial and production managers.
  • Implement marketing strategies to achieve or exceed divisional targets.
  • Identify and analyze potential end-user market opportunities and direct strategies for market penetration.
  • Coordinate operations with internal groups for cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop communication links within ADM for optimal facility use and market access.
  • Stay updated on market trends and competitor activities to revise marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the corn processing group in external meetings and committees.
  • Foster teamwork and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Track progress towards business plans and objectives, initiating action as required.
  • Provide training and support to ADM staff regarding professional development.
  • Prepare and submit regular and ad hoc reports to the VP Corn Processing.

Requirements

  • University degree in agriculture, business administration, or economics.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing commodities and related products in North America.
  • Experience in risk management is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a high-risk, fast-paced work environment.
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international trade.
  • Ability to manage effectively within a team-based environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software applications.
