About the position

As the General Manager of Sandy Hill Kennels, you will lead daily operations in a vibrant dog resort environment, ensuring exceptional customer service and the well-being of pets. This role involves a mix of administrative duties and hands-on management, including staff training, payroll oversight, and community engagement, all while maintaining a fun and safe atmosphere for pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and maintain staff to ensure top-tier customer service.
• Flex between administrative work and working alongside the team in various roles such as front desk, daycare, and kennel rooms.
• Monitor staff performance and assist in their growth and development.
• Collaborate with Village Pet Care corporate staff and oversee payroll processes.
• Manage and train village staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies.
• Prepare daily revenue and end-of-day reports.
• Safeguard pet guests, administer medications, and maintain necessary supplies.
• Manage team work shifts while adhering to budget constraints.
• Promote Village Pet Care and engage with the community to enhance visibility.
• Complete all training programs and participate in essential meetings.

Requirements

• At least two years of management experience with basic profit and loss (P&L) knowledge.
• Strong customer service skills and proficiency in computer applications.
• Excellent people management, problem-solving, and confidentiality skills.
• Previous experience with animals is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication, presentation, and motivational skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift 40 pounds.
