About the position

The General Manager Franchise is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property management in alignment with ARK Hospitality's vision and mission. This role focuses on maximizing financial performance, ensuring guest satisfaction, and fostering staff development while adhering to established quality standards. The General Manager is also tasked with hiring and training hotel staff and must be available 24/7 to address operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, training, mentoring and supervising staff
  • Managing budgets and maximizing revenues
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Planning maintenance work, events, and room bookings
  • Handling customer complaints and queries
  • Promoting and marketing the business
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and licensing laws
  • Meeting daily with each department to check in with team members
  • Performing administrative duties such as payroll and bank deposits
  • Conducting staff training meetings to maintain service levels
  • Inspecting guest rooms and back of house areas to ensure standards are met
  • Being present on property during shift changes to communicate daily priorities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years related experience or training
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents
  • Proficient in Internet software, spreadsheet software (Excel), word processing software (Word), email software (Outlook), and presentation software (PowerPoint)

Nice-to-haves

  • General Manager experience
  • Knowledge of Home2 Suites and PEP experience
