About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the property, ensuring exceptional guest service, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This role involves leadership in staffing, budgeting, sales and marketing, and facilities management, while fostering a positive work environment and adhering to company policies and brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and implements the day-to-day operations of the property.
  • Oversees property staffing including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Cultivates an inclusive culture and maintains a supportive environment for team members.
  • Provides exceptional guest service and sets standards for team members.
  • Maintains personal contact with guests, clients, and community organizations.
  • Prepares annual operating budget including sales, marketing, and revenue management plans.
  • Leads all sales efforts and revenue management for the property.
  • Implements the Forecasting Report and Budgeting Report for the property.
  • Analyzes financial performance and initiates corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with company and brand standards and maintains certifications.
  • Inspects guestrooms to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Monitors procedures for control of supplies, keys, and safety of staff and guests.

Requirements

  • College degree or related work experience.
  • Five or more years of hotel experience with three years in a management position.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to handle pressure.
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership qualities.

  • Experience in hospitality management.
  • Knowledge of local market trends and industry standards.
