About the position

The General Manager oversees and manages the operations of a single property, ensuring optimal performance and continuous improvement in key performance indicators. This role is responsible for achieving profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency while maintaining company standards. The General Manager leads the staff, coordinates daily hotel operations, and promotes a culture of 100% guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure associates are driving company initiatives and promoting guest satisfaction.
  • Maximize revenues and flow through to meet or exceed budgeted EBITDA.
  • Manage labor standards and property level expenses for maximum profit.
  • Monitor collection of in-house guest balances and vendor payments.
  • Participate in monthly inventory of supplies and ensure purchases are within budget.
  • Work with District Manager to manage sales activities and meet revenue objectives.
  • Identify potential business opportunities in the local market and maintain relationships with local companies.
  • Resolve guest-related issues in line with company goals.
  • Recruit and train qualified applicants according to company standards.
  • Communicate policies and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Inspect property for repairs and cleanliness to ensure upkeep and appearance.
  • Build solid client relationships within the district.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required.
  • 4-year degree highly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Conversational Spanish would be beneficial.
