About the position

The General Manager (GM) of a collision center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an automotive repair facility, ensuring high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role involves managing workflow, financial performance, customer relations, team leadership, compliance, vendor relations, and the integration of technology and innovation in the repair process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and efficient workflow management among technicians, estimators, and staff.
• Implement quality control processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Manage inventory and equipment, including ordering parts and maintaining tools.
• Develop and manage the center's budget, controlling costs and maximizing revenue.
• Monitor performance metrics and take actions to improve profitability goals.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and handle escalations or complaints directly.
• Work with customers to explain repair estimates and provide guidance.
• Implement marketing and sales strategies to attract and retain customers.
• Hire, train, and supervise staff, including conducting performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and promote safety standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and insurance companies.
• Utilize collision repair management software to streamline operations.

Requirements

• Autobody shop experience
• Strong public speaking and communication skills
• Proven track record in retail sales and customer service
• Ability to lead a team and manage GM vehicles effectively
• Experience in outbound sales and sales support
• Knowledge of inventory management and organizational skills
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus
• 5 years of auto estimating experience required
