About the position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of Caviar & Bananas Gourmet Market & Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in restaurant management and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, budgets, and overall guest experiences while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
• Develop and implement effective strategies for budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
• Oversee kitchen management, ensuring food quality, presentation, and safety standards are met.
• Manage bar operations, including inventory control and staff training on beverage service.
• Foster a positive work environment through effective shift management and team development.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Handle cash management procedures accurately to ensure financial integrity.
• Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
• Conduct regular training sessions to improve staff performance in hospitality management practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in restaurant management or similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash handling, and financial reporting.
• Experience in kitchen management with an understanding of food safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead by example.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with both staff and customers.
• Ability to work flexible hours, and weekends as needed.
