About the position

The General Manager (GM) for the Commercial Division at M. Carlson Painting is responsible for leading and growing the division, focusing on commercial painting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the commercial painting industry, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to customer satisfaction. This role involves managing a team, developing efficient processes, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients.

Responsibilities

• Creating an amazing experience for customers
• Grow and lead the Commercial Division
• Focus on owner direct repaint work, Multi-Family, Hospitality, Property Management, Procurement Projects, and some new construction
• Manage the Commercial Division team of sales and project managers
• Report to the CEO and participate in goal setting for the Commercial Division
• Work with admin and finance teams to improve efficiencies
• Problem-solving to enable team success
• Network to generate new leads
• Contact leads, schedule appointments, and meet with prospective customers to estimate costs
• Follow up with prospective customers to finalize deals
• Hit monthly KPIs with a goal of closing 50% of leads
• Coordinate with customers and crews from lead to project completion
• Compile and confirm project scope and timeline
• Use checklists and change orders to manage jobs effectively
• Ensure customer needs and expectations are communicated and documented
• Follow through with customers for satisfaction and payment requests

Requirements

• 10+ years as a commercial paint estimator or project manager
• Specific experience in commercial painting is required
• Understanding of paint products and processes
• Ability to effectively communicate with crews and customers
• Must have the ability to utilize technology

Nice-to-haves

• Background in painting/trades/hospitality is preferred
• Spanish language skills are a plus
