About the position

The General Manager (GM) at Best Western Loveland Inn is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the daily operations of the hotel. This role involves managing a diverse workforce to ensure the hotel runs smoothly and profitably while maximizing guest satisfaction and financial performance. The GM will implement sales and marketing strategies, maintain quality standards, and foster a positive work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise the activities of hotel staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maximize financial performance by providing high-quality guest service and product.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to optimize occupancy and rates.
  • Monitor and manage budgetary guidelines and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property and oversee maintenance and repair activities.
  • Interview, hire, coach, and counsel department managers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Establish guest service processes and periodically review for improvements.
  • Develop programs to promote a positive work environment and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Forecast staffing needs and manage cost expenditures in line with budgeted sales.
  • Engage in community affairs and maintain effective communication with corporate staff.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience managing a hotel's overall operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue and guest expectations.
  • Strong budgetary, forecasting, and cost control skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage change effectively and build effective relationships.
  • Thorough knowledge of hotel operations, including accounting, maintenance, and guest services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in hospitality/hotel management, business management, or a related field.
  • Experience in corporate client handling and new client acquisition.
