About the position

The General Manager (GM) at Ablitt's Fine Cleaners and Tailors is responsible for overseeing the daily management and operations of the dry-cleaning plant. This role involves managing all aspects of plant operations, driving business growth, and ensuring the highest standards of customer experience. The GM will lead the Production, Specialty, and Customer Experience departments, ensuring efficient functioning of the facility while maintaining service quality and striving for continuous improvement during a significant growth period.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all plant operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and production output.
  • Support supervisors/leads to ensure day-to-day plant operations are planned efficiently and provide excellent customer experience.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of all operations equipment in the plant.
  • Support fleet management, including maintenance logs and repairs.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for departments across the organization.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Understand and maximize the use of Ablitt's Point of Sale system (SMRT).
  • Provide detailed reports on overall performance, operations, and production matters.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and mentor supervisory/lead teams.
  • Oversee the Production, Specialty, and Customer Service Manager and teams for efficiency and quality work.
  • Ensure adequate scheduling of all drivers and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
  • Develop cohesive relationships between CSR, drivers, and mark-in teams, cross-training team members.
  • Maintain employee attendance records and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Act as Safety Director to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior management role in a manufacturing plant, hotel, restaurant, or similar industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant operations management software.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including after hours and on Saturdays.

  • Experience with acquisitions helpful but not required.
