About the position

The General Manager at Boddie-Noell Enterprises is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, and adhering to company policies and regulations while fostering a positive work environment. The General Manager will also play a key role in training and developing team members, driving performance, and achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and hire qualified staff to operate the restaurant based on company standards and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Schedule sufficient staff to operate the restaurant and accommodate guest flow, managing labor costs to meet company standards.
  • Train the management team and crew using the current training system, evaluating performance at designated intervals and designing development plans for improvement.
  • Maintain a cooperative, harmonious working relationship with the management team and crew, providing coaching, counseling, and discipline as warranted.
  • Conduct crew and management team meetings to discuss operational procedures, promotions, safety, security, and training.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of all products necessary to operate the restaurant, controlling inventory to meet company food cost variance standards.
  • Maintain reports and records based on company standards and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the building and equipment using appropriate operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Responsible for all cash handling and adherence to cash procedures.
  • Ensure personal appearance meets company standards and displays professionalism at all times.
  • Recognize and adhere to all HR, sanitation, safety, and security policies to ensure a safe and compliant environment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Strong conflict-resolution skills.
  • Solid organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to balance hands-on work with effective delegation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Quick Service Restaurant (3 years preferred).
  • Good references.
