About the position

The General Manager II at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for leading the store team, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales goals while maintaining high service and appearance standards. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and store operations, along with the ability to inspire and develop team members. The position demands a commitment to customer success and business growth, with a focus on both DIY and professional customer segments.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
  • Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
  • Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
  • Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional)
  • Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, and opening/closing duties
  • Lead change management initiatives
  • Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10 - 20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or related area preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statements

Nice-to-haves

  • ASE certification preferred but not required
