About the position

The General Manager II at Advance Auto Parts is a professional-level sales and management position responsible for inspiring the team, fostering customer relationships, and achieving financial metrics. This role requires a deep understanding of store and automotive systems, as well as the ability to manage both DIY and professional customer needs. The General Manager is accountable for maintaining service and appearance standards while working a demanding schedule of 50-55 hours per week, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
• Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
• Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
• Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
• Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional)
• Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, and opening/closing duties
• Lead change management initiatives
• Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment
• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or related area preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to analyze business reports, including profit and loss statements
• Strong financial and business acumen

Nice-to-haves

• ASE certification preferred but not required
• Experience in a retail environment with a focus on customer service
