About the position

The General Manager II at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for leading the store team, achieving sales goals, and maintaining high service standards. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and store operations, as well as the ability to build and maintain professional customer relationships. The General Manager is expected to work a minimum of 50-55 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, and is accountable for the overall performance of the store.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
  • Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
  • Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
  • Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional)
  • Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties
  • Ability to lead change management
  • Provide DIY service including battery installation, testing, wiper install, etc.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10 - 20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or a related area preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statements (P&L)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in team management
  • Ability to become ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
  • Experience managing profitability and proven financial acumen
