About the position

The General Manager II at Advance Stores Company Inc is responsible for leading a team to achieve sales goals and maintain high service standards in a retail automotive environment. This role requires a strong understanding of store and automotive systems, as well as the ability to build and maintain professional customer relationships. The General Manager is accountable for financial metrics and operational standards, and must work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
• Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
• Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
• Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
• Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional)
• Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, and opening/closing duties
• Lead change management initiatives
• Embrace diversity and foster a respectful environment for both Customers and Team Members
• Provide DIY service including battery installation and testing
• Assist District/Region in other functions upon request

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment
• Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen
• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or a related area preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with Customers, peers, and upper management
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statements (P&L)

Nice-to-haves

• ASE certification preferred, but not required
• Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
