About the position

The General Manager II (GMII) position at HMSHost is responsible for managing a complex Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or Casual Dining establishment, ensuring high operational and financial standards are met. The GMII oversees staffing, training, and daily operations while driving employee engagement and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to make strategic decisions to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the restaurant is clean, staffed, and operational to high standards.
• Manage staffing and deployment to maximize profitability and accept P&L responsibility.
• Conduct interviews and make hiring, termination, and promotion decisions for restaurant associates.
• Promote HMSHost as an employer of choice within the local community.
• Ensure compliance with onboarding and offboarding processes for all associates.
• Monitor financial and operational data to meet unit goals and objectives.
• Recognize and motivate restaurant staff for their contributions and performance.
• Oversee product availability and manage supply chain issues.
• Maintain restaurant equipment and schedule routine service or repairs as needed.
• Implement marketing programs and drive revenue through promotional activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of restaurant P&L management experience.
• 5-7 years of overall working restaurant experience in similar complexity.
• Demonstrated skills in team management, delegation, and issue resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities.
• Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, and operational standards.
