About the position

The General Manager III at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for achieving overall store sales goals and service objectives while managing and developing a team of store members. This role emphasizes building professional customer relationships, executing operational standards, and ensuring a high level of customer service. The General Manager will also oversee inventory management, coaching team members, and leading change management initiatives within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage and grow professional customer relationships and sales
  • Select, hire, develop, and manage store team members
  • Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
  • Coach team members to deliver on customer expectations
  • Handle manager on duty responsibilities including coaching and task assignment
  • Lead change management initiatives
  • Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing
  • Assist District/Region in other functions upon request

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 in a retail environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability with proven financial acumen
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to analyze business reports, including P&L statements

Nice-to-haves

  • ASE certification preferred but not required
