About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the retail operation at Enmark Stations, ensuring the location achieves sales and profit goals through effective management and leadership. This role emphasizes customer service, team development, and operational excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, coach, develop, empower, and hold accountable team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and retail presentation.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the retail operation, providing support where needed.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train high-caliber candidates.
  • Analyze sales, margin, product inventory levels, and purchase trends to maximize profitability.
  • Execute company marketing plans and procedures at the store level.
  • Implement new program rollouts effectively at the store level.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels through effective ordering.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
  • Manage employee scheduling and payroll to maximize sales and meet labor targets.
  • Complete required daily and monthly paperwork and reporting.
  • Achieve sales and performance goals set by upper management.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Manage employee activities and ensure timely completion of duties.
  • Conduct accurate and timely employee performance reviews.
  • Investigate inventory or cash shortages efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to vendor procedures and cash handling policies.
  • Follow company video and security procedures at all times.
  • Complete competition surveys as requested by management.
  • Support the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in community service events quarterly with the district team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the sale of restricted products.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Execute fuel pricing strategy and conduct timely fuel surveys.
  • Complete self-maintenance items at the store level.
  • Enhance employee morale and engagement through communication and recognition.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendor partners.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at the assigned location.
  • Act as a proactive business manager to achieve company goals and analyze P&L reports.
  • Ensure positive employee relations and resolve disputes timely.
  • Embrace and facilitate change within the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-5 years experience as a retail manager, preferably in a convenience store setting.
  • Ability to work 50 hours weekly.
  • Flexible schedule availability including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift inventory weighing up to 40 pounds.
