About the position
The General Manager (GM) at Maplewood Club Fitness is responsible for leading the club team towards operational excellence, ensuring high levels of customer service and member satisfaction, and achieving overall revenue goals. The GM will oversee all aspects of club operations, including employee training and development, team building, and member experience, while fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the club team by sourcing talent, interviewing candidates, and hiring quality team members.
- Set a positive example through behavior and work ethic, providing guidance and support to motivate employees.
- Identify training needs and provide continuous development for employees, including coaching and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Enhance employee engagement and job satisfaction through recognition and promoting a healthy work-life balance.
- Maintain and expand relationships with club members to enhance member experience and retention.
- Set performance expectations for employees and regularly assess their progress.
- Proactively resolve conflicts and promote a harmonious work environment.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align club priorities with the organization's mission and goals.
- Demonstrate quality coaching and development of Personal Trainers to acquire personal training clients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 18 years of age required.
- One year as a Certified Personal Trainer required (2+ years preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field strongly preferred.
- One year of leadership experience required.
- One or more nationally accredited PT certification required (or can be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- CPR/AED certification required (or can be obtained within 30 days of hire).
