About the position

The General Manager at Biomerics is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal production performance and cost management. This role involves planning, guiding, and directing plant operations to meet objectives related to safety, quality, production output, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction. The General Manager will also focus on fostering a positive workplace culture, driving operational excellence, and supporting revenue growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Set the tone for a positive and inclusive workplace culture, exemplifying the company's core values.
  • Lead employee management initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment across site(s).
  • Champion employee safety and wellness, ensuring best practices are shared and implemented across all facilities.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and execute talent acquisition, training, and employee development strategies that motivate and enhance team capabilities.
  • Drive collaboration and sharing of processes and best practices across all sites throughout the company network.
  • Oversee effective management of cost centers for assigned facilities, ensuring alignment with broader organizational financial goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation and reduce operational costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Controller to monitor and analyze costs, driving efficiency improvements across all plants.
  • Direct all aspects of site operations, including purchasing, scheduling, manufacturing, process engineering, warehousing, shipping/receiving, quality assurance, and customer service, with a focus on cross-site collaboration and integration.
  • Utilize key metrics to manage operations, ensuring effective communication and reporting across specialized functions and sister locations.
  • Lead and promote a culture of operational excellence, driving continuous improvement initiatives across sites.
  • Oversee Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), implementing formal programs to enhance cost, lead time, quality, and safety metrics across multiple locations.
  • Develop Centers of Excellence that cultivate technology, teams, and operational performance to support best practices and innovation within core technologies.
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned facilities, including lease contracts, equipment needs, capacity management, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with broader organizational strategies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and President to develop and implement sales strategies aimed at revenue growth, leveraging insights and capabilities from across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Business. Masters preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years of senior leadership experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in managing projects, particularly in transferring new processes into manufacturing facilities, with a focus on cross-site collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills that align with Biomerics' values, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive decision-making in a matrix environment through complex data analysis.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with strong leadership and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven delegation and team motivation skills, enhancing performance across diverse teams.
  • Ability to translate company vision and goals into achievable tasks at the site level while gaining buy-in from those you lead to accomplish those goals.
