The General Manager at Smarte Carte, Inc. is responsible for overseeing all airport operations at the Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport. This full-time position requires a dynamic leader who can build and develop a strong team of front-line managers and support staff. This role is pivotal in managing the airport's profit and loss (P&L), achieving annual revenue and EBITDA goals, and improving the efficiency of labor, materials, and equipment. The General Manager is expected to be highly visible, driving value and significantly impacting the bottom-line profitability of Smarte Carte, with opportunities for advancement into senior management roles. In this role, the General Manager will have overall responsibility for a multi-million-dollar P&L, with expectations to deliver excellent results against annual and strategic plans. The position involves leading operations with multiple associates, ensuring that daily operational performance goals are met through effective labor management and the application of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. The General Manager will also be tasked with developing new business opportunities, particularly in airport services and other vending opportunities, while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the airport community and peers at Smarte Carte. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in an operational function such as manufacturing, logistics, or process improvement, along with strong P&L management experience. They should have a proven track record of direct management experience and the ability to manage across a diverse range of capabilities and personalities. The General Manager will be expected to demonstrate strategic leadership, planning skills, and a strong understanding of business assessment and value chain management. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in change management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate institutional complexities and labor union negotiations.
