As the General Manager of our retail optical stores, you will be responsible for the overall management of the store, ensuring that the financial, operational, and commercial aspects of the business run smoothly. This includes overseeing store budgets, cost controls, human resource functions, P&L control, accounts receivable control, inventory control, and facility maintenance. You will serve as the primary point of contact between staff and customers, ensuring that all Eyemart procedures and policies are adhered to. Your leadership will set the tone and standard for the store, motivating and training associates to succeed. Building and maintaining positive relationships with optometrists, local businesses, and customers is crucial, as your next customer or employee could come from anywhere. In this role, you will be a visible and accessible presence to both patients and employees, managing daily operations to meet Eyemart standards in sales production, pricing, inventory control, and more. You will ensure that all employees follow Eyemart's retail and lab protocols, assigning duties and establishing performance standards. Your expertise in these processes will enable you to encourage, train, coach, and correct employees to maintain service level expectations. You will also be responsible for maintaining store sales goals, partnering with the Lab Manager to ensure a cohesive relationship between retail and lab operations, and ensuring total patient satisfaction by resolving complaints and discrepancies. Additionally, you will establish and monitor the store budget, manage expenses, and maintain accurate corporate reporting. Safety is a priority, and you will ensure that all employees are trained to follow OSHA and safety requirements. Maintaining a clean and quality medical/retail environment is essential, and you will oversee daily housekeeping duties and schedule periodic deep-cleaning and maintenance as needed.
