About the position

The General Manager at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for leading the store team, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales goals while maintaining high service and appearance standards. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and store operations, with a commitment to inspiring the team and ensuring customer success. The position demands a minimum of 50-55 hours per week, including rotating weekends and evenings, and involves both managerial and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales
  • Selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of store Team Members
  • Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards
  • Coach all Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations (DIY and Professional)
  • Manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties
  • Lead change management initiatives
  • Provide DIY service including battery installation and testing
  • Assist District/Region in other functions upon request

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10 - 20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in business or a related area preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required
