About the position

The General Manager Operations is responsible for overseeing the administration and efficient operation of Liebherr USA MCC, focusing on Parts Business, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Continuous Improvement. This role emphasizes superior customer service, staff motivation, and alignment with divisional targets, while managing procurement and distribution of production and spare parts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual budget setting and strategic planning for Operations.
  • Set up and maintain an efficient Parts Business.
  • Set up and maintain an efficient Remanufacturing Department.
  • Ensure personnel are well trained and available when needed.
  • Direct Inventory Planners and review all stock orders to ensure a balanced inventory of Parts & Components.
  • Supervise and maintain an accurate inventory management and control system.
  • Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for management.
  • Review Inventory reports for LUS Mining, dealer companies, and customer consignment warehouses.
  • Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude.
  • Develop all expense controls and ensure adherence by all departments.
  • Improve process quality to drive optimum cost performance.
  • Promote safety in work processes and associate performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Material Management) with 5 years of progressive experience in product support and distribution including 2 years materials and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of operational management principles, theories, and processes.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of customs import/export of parts from/to Europe and US.
  • Knowledge of transportation logistics.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Access Database, BaaN ERP system, Project Management software, Excel, and Word.
