About the position

The General Manager at America's Best is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring high levels of customer service, managing personnel, and controlling inventory. This role is crucial in maintaining profitability and achieving sales goals while fostering a positive work environment for associates. The position also involves strategic planning and execution of store promotions and visual merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
  • Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals by reviewing the P&L.
  • Monitor sales results against budgeted figures.
  • Ensure all store associates provide excellent customer service.
  • Investigate and compile competitive information.
  • Provide daily and weekly statistics to the District Manager and corporate office.
  • Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and communicated to associates and doctors.
  • Hire, supervise, and train all store associates.
  • Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
  • Maintain professional relations with the doctor, other National Vision associates, and customers.

Requirements

  • Management experience in retail and/or optical industry.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
