About the position

The General Manager at Shopko Optical in Papillion, NE is responsible for leading a new optical store and team, focusing on maximizing sales, profit, and customer service objectives. Responsibilities

  • Lead the optical team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver planned sales and financial results.
  • Model service, patient care, and selling techniques to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives.
  • Act with urgency to complete tasks and respond to patients and customers.
  • Drive optical initiatives through the team by planning and scheduling appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the business and develop business plans to drive profitable sales.
  • Hire, develop, and train teammates while managing their performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company HR policies and federal/state laws.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding company initiatives and key information.
  • Provide excellent customer service in all interactions and dispense eyewear according to professional standards.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent management experience with a strong customer service focus, preferably in an optical or retail setting.
  • Optician experience desired; ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and build relationships in a professional environment.
  • Ability to analyze and solve issues of varied scope and implement solutions decisively.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills with the ability to monitor progress towards goals.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and recognize opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing great customer service.
  • Solid computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the optical industry.
  • Certification in optical dispensing or related fields.
