About the position

The General Manager at RION Equipment is responsible for overseeing and growing an independent business operation that includes Sales, Rental, and Product Support. This role emphasizes the development of value-added services and requires the establishment and leadership of a skilled team focused on safety and continuous improvement. The General Manager will manage the profit and loss statement, develop strategic business plans, and ensure the quality of products and services for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for location profit and loss statement.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to divisional budgetary requirements.
  • Develops an operating/business plan that supports divisional and corporate goals.
  • Makes strategic decisions to ensure profitability of the business.
  • Aligns business goals with the strategic direction of Rion Equipment.
  • Reviews market information to determine customer needs and assists in developing sales campaigns.
  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraises performance and addresses performance management challenges.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients and assists sales representatives in maintaining relationships.
  • Ensures efficient and safe operation of the facility, maintaining organization and cleanliness.
  • Maintains inventory at acceptable levels to meet company goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the material handling or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of profit and loss management.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic business plans.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales and customer relationship management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in the industry.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
