About the position

The General Manager Sales Operations will lead a multifunctional team to achieve financial targets by driving topline revenue and Gross Profit objectives while efficiently managing labor and expenses. This role emphasizes building a strong organizational culture through succession planning and collaboration with cross-functional partners to inspire and motivate the team.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets business data and results, develops execution strategy and provides direction to the Sales Operations Organization to achieve business plan targets and metrics.
  • Oversees the achievement of executional and operational targets and metrics by leading consistent and effective management routines.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other departments to achieve the company's business objectives and targets.
  • Drives efficiencies and excellence throughout the operations that maximize safety and positively impact operating expense, optimize operations, and service customers.
  • Directs, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training.
  • Implements continuous improvement methods and embodies company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership opportunities.
  • Inspects execution and results in the marketplace and effectively coaches and teaches teams to develop and improve.
  • Communicates and drives adherence against policy and procedure related to people and Purpose.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of working in and leading a sales organization and/or a DSD delivery organization.
  • Outstanding business acumen which includes PL management, Revenue, and Gross Profit management.
  • Versed in complex commercial selling strategies.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Strong leadership presence in front of large groups of people.
  • Build strong followership to achieve common objectives.
  • Experience working closely with large customers to achieve results is preferred (customer management).
  • Must have strong collaborative skills and be able to work well cross-functionally.
  • Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with decisiveness.
  • High sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Must have a high sense of initiative and a 'can-do' attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • A college degree (associate's or bachelor's) is preferred though not mandatory.
  • Industry experience is preferred, commensurate accountability and duties in other industries (likely to be CPG or Retail).
