About the position

TK Elevator is seeking an experienced General Manager for the San Antonio/Corpus Christi area. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing the branch's profit and loss (P&L) by overseeing all departments and lines of business to exceed business goals. The General Manager will foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and ownership, while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises department managers and superintendents, providing direction and training.
  • Leads the company's commitment to customer service and safety, administering the safety program and performing audits.
  • Ensures efficient daily operations that meet financial commitments, including target EBIT and gross margin goals.
  • Manages profit and loss, using accounting reports to measure departmental performance against budgetary goals.
  • Works with sales managers to increase the customer base and directly handles sales management responsibilities as needed.
  • Oversees retention of service contracts and plays a leadership role in customer retention programs.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with clients, elevator consultants, and building owners.
  • Ensures timely and consistent performance management processes for both union and non-union employees.
  • Recommends employee merit increases and reviews compensation and bonus structures with employees.
  • Maintains knowledge of the market area, including sales backlog and service volume.
  • Stays updated on federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements and employment laws.
  • Reviews and approves invoices, accounts receivables, and assists in the collection of problem accounts.
  • Interfaces with corporate and US field departments, ensuring coordination with regional HR teams.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent extensive industry and management experience.
  • Two years' experience managing at a branch departmental level or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in managing and developing talent within the workforce.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in various forms.
