About the position

The Site General Manager at TravelCenters of America is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations of a designated travel center. The General Manager is tasked with building a strong leadership team, setting goals related to profitability, safety, and service quality, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities

  • Supervise the management team and overall operations of the designated location.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor with high character, honesty, and integrity.
  • Inspire Profit Center Managers and their teams to achieve company objectives.
  • Establish and be responsible for goals related to people, profit, safety, and quality of service.
  • Coach and teach sound customer service principles to all team members.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to identify management talent and review staffing levels.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage location operations while controlling operating expenses within established budgets.
  • Develop and implement programs that recognize outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Proficient planning and analytical skills, including understanding P&L calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and operational understanding of POS software.
  • Valid driver's license with appropriate insurance coverage.
