About the position

The General Manager at Sports & Social Allentown is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a unique sports bar and social lounge. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high standards of service, maintaining financial controls, and representing the venue within the community. The General Manager will lead a team to provide an elevated dining and entertainment experience while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Control the day-to-day operations of the venue within company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional company image, including cleanliness and appearance standards.
  • Manage service contracts with outside vendors and entertainment directors.
  • Prepare Ops Statements and other financial disclosures, taking appropriate actions.
  • Control Profit & Loss by following cash control/security procedures and managing inventory.
  • Ensure daily deposits are secured and safe counts are conducted.
  • Maintain cost of goods sold and oversee inventory counts.
  • Respond to customer service needs to provide high standards of service.
  • Complete financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties accurately and on time.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire team management members; train and supervise staff.
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their job functions.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Represent the venue professionally to the community, including local businesses and media.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 4-year college degree in restaurant management preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience in restaurant/nightclub management, with multi-unit management experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English; other languages preferred.
  • Good people management, communication, and listening skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and communicate efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Internally motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about teaching others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in multi-unit management.
  • Fluency in languages other than English.
