About the position

The General Manager for the Travel Center is responsible for overseeing all operations of a large complex travel center, which includes retail, truck service, quick serve restaurants, and casual dining. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of managers, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, managing profit and loss, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all operations of a large complex travel center including retail, truck service, quick serve restaurants, and casual dining.
  • Lead and mentor a team of managers allocated to different departments within the location.
  • Ensure accountability for all facets of retail convenience day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee profit and loss (P&L) management and customer service standards.
  • Manage point of sale (POS) systems and office technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and provide training as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of travel center management experience with P&L ownership.
  • High level of business acumen and ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience in hiring, training, mentoring, and leading a team to success.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent communication abilities.
