About the position

The General Manager - Warehouse/Distribution is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts within Ryder System. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business while ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing feedback, and developing direct and indirect reports, as well as maintaining effective customer relations and improving operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Set goals and conduct performance evaluations for employees.
• Provide ongoing feedback and conduct disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Develop direct and indirect reports and maintain corrective staffing levels.
• Create and maintain location processes and ensure staff training in Transportation/Distribution Management.
• Resolve customer satisfaction issues and review KPI tracking for improvement.
• Improve employee retention and reduce accidents and unnecessary overtime.
• Conduct self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.
• Prepare SOX revenue recognition and invoice reconciliation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• Five years or more of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management.
• Five years or more of experience managing large multi-level teams.
• Three years or more of experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions.
• One year or more of customer interaction and managing customer KPIs.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience in a LEAN work environment.
• Sales experience and multi-client experience.
• Knowledge of truck brokerage.
