About the position

The General Manager at Cooklyn Eats is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple restaurant locations, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, and staff performance. This role requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about hospitality and skilled in team management, working closely with the Owners to drive business growth and maintain a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to company standards.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, ensuring all safety and cleanliness protocols are followed.
  • Optimize restaurant performance by developing and implementing processes that increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead and motivate restaurant staff, including kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs in line with business needs.
  • Ensure ongoing staff development through regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • Uphold high levels of customer service to ensure every guest has an exceptional dining experience.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues swiftly and professionally.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the brand's values and enhances customer loyalty.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring stock is replenished in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
  • Oversee food safety standards and maintain compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage Instagram and TikTok accounts and engage with the community through social media.
  • Monitor online reviews and feedback to ensure a positive brand presence.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is REQUIRED.
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including kitchen and front-of-house management.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and other restaurant technology tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Food Handlers License is preferred but not required; must obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Someone with a Vehicle is highly preferred as you'll need to visit all stores (Brooklyn, Bronx & Queens) every week.
