About the position

The General Manager at the Golf Club of Dublin is responsible for overseeing all departments of the club, including golf, grounds, clubhouse, and food & beverage services. This role focuses on ensuring fiscal performance, developing operational strategies, and enhancing customer service excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies. The General Manager will lead the team in executing golf events, social gatherings, and banquets, aiming to improve the club's offerings and competitive position in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct all departments of the club including golf, grounds, clubhouse, and food & beverage.
  • Develop and implement fiscal, operational, and business development plans and strategies.
  • Establish and administer operational standards and quality performance guidelines.
  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor the development of the facility's annual business plan and operating/capital budgets.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial performance relative to budget goals and objectives.
  • Analyze budget variances and develop action plans for adjustments.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required operational, financial, and budgetary reports.
  • Manage communication of system activities to ensure coordination between departments.
  • Provide leadership to promote positive employee morale and performance quality.
  • Oversee employment activities including recruitment, performance evaluations, and training.
  • Assess the quality of customer service activities in all departments.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and community organizations.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • PGA Class A designation preferred.
  • 10 years of applicable functional, supervisory, and/or management experience, preferably in the golf industry.
  • Experience in budget development, fiscal management, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management, retailing, marketing, and customer service.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and POS systems.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems and handle multiple duties under pressure.

  • Experience in guest relations and sales.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
