About the position

The General Manager at The Porch Phoenix/Arcadia is responsible for overseeing the quality of food, drink, and service at the restaurant. This role involves managing a team of over 50 staff members, including an Assistant General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Bar Manager, and Floor Manager. The General Manager will ensure operational excellence, maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness, and contribute to the restaurant's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure all paperwork (invoices, purchasing, safe counts, cash paid outs, labor) is correct and submitted on time.
  • Submit accurate bi-weekly payroll and onboarding for new hires.
  • Ensure that all food and products are high quality and prepared and served following set standards.
  • Ensure restaurant achieves objectives in sales, profitability, service, quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation/cleanliness.
  • Contribute to the execution of marketing plans.
  • Hire, train, and develop new managers and certain team members.
  • Make employment and termination decisions.
  • Help develop the budget and oversee the execution of the budget.
  • Analyze financial reports and make necessary management decisions when necessary.
  • Conduct weekly manager meetings and monthly financial review meetings.
  • Conduct daily sanitation walk-throughs and communicate opportunities to team members.
  • Positively impact team member morale.
  • Manage POS System.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, food safety, alcohol laws, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized restaurant.
  • Ensure all food is being handled properly to prevent food borne illness.
  • Ensure temperatures and taste tests are being performed routinely and corrective action is taken as necessary.
  • Interface regularly and professionally with guests - table touches.
  • Set the example and teach quick and friendly customer service.
  • Demonstrate values of commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and quality.
  • Communicate in a timely, professional, and direct manner with team members and ownership.
  • Oversee music, DJ, lighting, entertainment, and games aspect of the restaurant to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Oversee maintenance of restaurant and coordinate upkeep and repairs.

Requirements

  • Culinary experience.

  • Mid-level management skills.
  • TIPS certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Restaurant experience.
