About the position

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all operations of the restaurant, ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability. This includes monitoring food and beverage costs, labor costs, and working to increase sales volume. The GM is tasked with running an efficient restaurant operation, providing fast customer service in a clean and friendly atmosphere, and reports directly to the District Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all restaurant operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control food/beverage costs and labor costs.
  • Protect current sales volume and work to increase future sales volume.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and handle complaints effectively.
  • Ensure proper preparation of menu items and compliance with company policies.
  • Motivate management staff and crew members to perform their duties with customer focus.
  • Address conduct issues among staff through coaching and discipline as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and regulations.
  • Secure the store safe and manage cash deposits according to company policies.
  • Take accurate inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Create weekly work schedules for crew members and monitor labor percentage.
  • Educate and train employees on compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Recruit and train new crew members and managers.
  • Assist with training and development for succession planning.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including stocking and housekeeping tasks.
  • Collaborate with District Manager to increase sales and optimize costs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; two or more years of restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work on-call in emergencies.
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards.
  • Proficiency in restaurant operations and policies.
  • Understanding of health codes for handling food.
  • Moderate computer skills, including POS systems and email.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and have a valid driver's license.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification.
