About the position

The General Manager at Union Square Events is responsible for overseeing the overall operation and cost-effective management of multiple dining service departments across various facilities. This role is integral to ensuring financial goals are met while providing exceptional service to clients and customers. The General Manager will lead a team, manage financials, and ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation and management of multiple dining service departments.
• Ensure team achievement of financial goals and targets.
• Manage all financial aspects including planning, budget development, and financial reporting.
• Conduct management meetings and audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Hire, train, and orient new management associates.
• Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, clients, and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field, or an Associate's degree with five to seven years of related experience.
• Minimum of five years of retail operational foodservice management experience.
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality and cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and various computer programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with cash retail operations and retail marketing is highly desirable.
• Multi-unit management experience preferred.
