About the position

The General Manager (GM) at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a retail store to achieve top-line sales growth while embodying the company's mission, vision, and values. This role involves managing a team of managers and associates, focusing on performance, people development, and process excellence to create an exceptional guest experience and drive profitability.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed sales and service goals.
• Drive company profitability through operational excellence and expense control.
• Leverage store forecasts and payroll budgets to maximize productivity and achieve sales goals.
• Address issues identified by financial and operational reporting to achieve store goals.
• Perform makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest service experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends and products to better serve guests.
• Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
• Build a highly engaged team through effective collaboration and communication.
• Lead manager and associate development, including training and performance reviews.
• Model a culture of open communication and teamwork among the management team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Protect company assets and minimize loss through adherence to operational procedures.
• Utilize company programs and tools to drive store improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5+ years of fast-paced retail management experience.
• Proven success in driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets.
• Experience in monitoring inventory levels and achieving operational excellence.
• Strong leadership skills in attracting and developing top talent.
• Proficient with technology, including Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
