About the position

The General Manager at Wolfgang Puck Catering is responsible for overseeing the cafes and catering services at The Perot Museum. This role focuses on delivering exceptional service while managing multiple dining service departments efficiently and effectively. The General Manager plays a critical role in achieving financial goals and targets, ensuring high standards of food service management, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of foodservice management with a proven track record of success.
  • Ensure operations meet all timelines for service and other established timelines.
  • Manage all financials including planning, budget development, analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers.
  • Conduct management meetings and demonstrate initiative and good judgement in assisting stakeholders.
  • Audit units to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards regarding food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record keeping.
  • Hire, train, and orient new management associates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of retail operational foodservice management experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
  • P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Multi-unit management experience preferred.
  • Experience with cash retail operations.
  • Retail marketing experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels including management, customer, and associate levels.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
  • Proficient in various computer programs, Microsoft Office, email, and the Internet.

  • Experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly and accurately.
