About the position

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Denver regional office for National Coatings, a multi-state commercial and industrial painting contractor. This role is crucial for ensuring profitability, managing project managers and office personnel, and supporting the company's growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for the daily operations of the region, ensuring project managers and office personnel remain on task to ensure profitability.
• Support estimating personnel by reviewing estimates based on cost parameters and project schedule compliance.
• Review project proposals to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
• Establish work plans and staffing for new projects, including recruitment or assignment of project personnel as needed.
• Prepare project reports for senior management and confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve issues.
• Coordinate project activities with government regulatory agencies as required.
• Oversee shop personnel and company equipment, ensuring all equipment is operational and properly inventoried.
• Establish and maintain business development relationships related to the regional office and other locations.
• Work closely with the Corporate office to manage and maintain a yearly budget with job and overhead goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project leadership and management.
• Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including government agencies.
