About the position

The General Manager at Corner Pantry is responsible for overseeing store operations to achieve sales and profit targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staffing, training personnel, maintaining store cleanliness, and adhering to operational budgets and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Builds sales by promoting customer satisfaction and managing costs.
  • Meets monthly budget goals and communicates variances to the District Manager.
  • Ensures adequate staffing to meet customer needs and manages the hiring process.
  • Trains personnel in handling sub-standard products and soliciting customer feedback.
  • Develops and executes a store-cleaning plan, ensuring cleanliness during all shifts.
  • Trains personnel on POS equipment and company policies, including alcohol and tobacco management.
  • Maintains high standards in store inspections and manages inventory shrinkage.
  • Follows company policies for cash control, safety, and operational problem resolution.
  • Ensures timely and accurate submission of invoices and paperwork requirements.
  • Tracks maintenance issues and ensures timely resolution.
  • Manages employee relations, performance reviews, and grievance processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the C-Store industry.
  • Knowledge of Corner Pantry operating systems and procedures.
  • Understanding of P&L analysis and corrective measures.
  • Experience in supervisory practices, planning, and budgeting.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree or equivalent experience in operations.
