About the position

The General Manager at White Cap is responsible for leading and optimizing operational and sales performance within the district, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. This role involves managing a team of District Operations Managers and District Sales Managers, driving sales initiatives, and maintaining high levels of customer service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of District Operations Managers (DOMs) and District Sales Managers (DSMs) to meet KPIs and resolve customer issues.
  • Implement and manage processes to ensure high sales and operational performance.
  • Assess team productivity and inspire aggressive sales efforts.
  • Execute company strategy through training programs and collaboration with various departments.
  • Own the local market, providing sales and operational leadership aligned with company priorities.
  • Develop annual and monthly sales objectives in partnership with senior management.
  • Drive innovative sales and operations initiatives in alignment with company direction.
  • Hold DSMs accountable for key sales metrics and provide regular feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational processes, driving customer service excellence.
  • Manage HR processes including hiring, coaching, training, and performance management.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
  • Proven operational leadership with a track record of managing multi-unit teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategic plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, P&L responsibility, inventory management, and cost control measures.
