About the position

The General Manager at Long Island Bagel Café (LIBC) is responsible for overseeing the full operations of a high-revenue store, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining product quality, and promoting a clean and safe environment. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage daily operations, lead a team, and drive sales growth while providing opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily operations of the location
  • Oversee all employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and general supervision
  • Manage purchase orders and all food-related functions
  • Maintain stock and inventory
  • Provide bookkeeping records and data on sales
  • Ensure product quality in keeping with company standards
  • Manage all customer relations with the ability to lead a team that consistently provides fast and outstanding service
  • Handle guest complaints in a professional manner
  • Enforce and monitor health, safety, and sanitation standards in all areas

Requirements

  • Previous experience in front-of-the-house management in a Bagel Café/Delicatessen
  • Superior customer service abilities
  • Self-disciplined outgoing demeanor
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, create, and interpret general business memos and documents
  • Knowledge of food safety, food prep and overall management skills
  • Ability to work 55-65 hours per week
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies, move around tight spaces, walk or stand 100% of the shift, and reach, bend and stoop frequently
