About the position

The General Manager at Hyatt House is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hotel operations. This role focuses on achieving performance objectives that drive sales, profitability, guest satisfaction, and associate satisfaction while ensuring compliance with brand standards. The General Manager will work closely with the leadership team to analyze business results and develop effective strategies for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary strategic leader of the hotel, overseeing all operations including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, and sales.
  • Analyze business results and collaborate with the leadership team to develop effective strategies.
  • Make key decisions and oversee execution, ensuring resources are available to achieve business results.
  • Ensure brand standards are met to exceed guest expectations, communicating necessary follow-up actions to the team.
  • Drive the sales culture in the hotel by actively participating in the sales process and encouraging the leadership team to develop revenue management strategies.
  • Prepare an annual budget and business plan in collaboration with department heads to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Monitor actual sales and revenues to assess goal accomplishments and determine variances.
  • Create an environment that allows all associates to reach their full potential.
  • Ensure all associate and business decisions align with the brand and company's Mission, Values, and Guiding Principles.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel.
  • Proven track record in delivering financial results.
  • Experience in building cohesive teams and facilitating goal accomplishment.
  • Ability to inspire associates and create a culture of care and accountability.
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with excellent speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
  • Aptitude in financial management, financial reports, and analysis.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example work style.

Nice-to-haves

  • GM experience with a Branded Hotel or upscale full-service property is a plus.
