About the position

The General Manager at Buddy is responsible for leading the restaurant's operations, ensuring high-quality service, and fostering a positive work environment. This role involves managing staff, overseeing scheduling, and handling administrative duties while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The General Manager will also focus on staff development and training, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to deliver exceptional service. Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the restaurant staff with passion and drive.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff members and provide solutions and guidance.
  • Oversee the global schedule and approve postings strategically based on business needs.
  • Ensure the restaurant operates at a high level during busy shifts and adapt the schedule accordingly.
  • Take responsibility for all operations within the restaurant, including technology and financials.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to ensure the facility and equipment are in working condition.
  • Perform administrative duties including processing new hires and payroll in collaboration with owners and HR.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and health and safety guidelines.
  • Adapt to various roles across both front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) as needed.
  • Develop the team by providing feedback and action plans for improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Experience in scheduling and time management in a restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and administrative tasks.
