About the position

The General Manager at Fort Fairfield Utilities District is responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of the District's water and wastewater facilities. This role includes managing day-to-day operations, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. The General Manager will lead a team and ensure the effective functioning of both water treatment and distribution systems, as well as wastewater treatment and collection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and operations of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of the District's water treatment facility.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for water and wastewater operations.
  • Supervise staff and provide leadership within the organization.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in operating and maintaining water and wastewater systems.
  • Supervisory experience in managing staff.
  • Valid Maine Driver's License.
  • Maine Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Operator's License.
  • Maine Grade III Water Treatment License.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Database Management, and Presentation Software.
