About the position

The General Manager will oversee the operations of the Fenway restaurant, ensuring a stellar customer experience while managing a diverse team. This role involves developing business strategies, maintaining operational standards, and fostering community engagement through events and partnerships. The ideal candidate will be passionate about restaurant management and craft beer, with a focus on quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent restaurant operations on all fronts
  • Create detailed SOPs for all aspects of the restaurant
  • Hold Managers and staff accountable to operating procedures
  • Perform consistent opening and closing procedures
  • Focus on improving customer service and interactions
  • Develop strategies to attract customers and increase profitability
  • Maintain a clean and inviting environment for guests
  • Handle difficult issues with staff and customers respectfully
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Production teams for events
  • Coordinate beer tours and train staff on company story and beer
  • Hire, onboard, and manage restaurant staff
  • Coordinate beer releases with Marketing and Production teams
  • Ensure clear communication between staff and Director of Hospitality
  • Observe safety protocols and improve safety culture
  • Track key measurements in the taproom
  • Monitor and approve payroll records
  • Conduct staff meetings and trainings
  • Utilize social media for restaurant promotion
  • Ensure staff pass Cicerone Certified Beer Server Exam
  • Represent Mighty Squirrel at industry events
  • Maintain high food service standards
  • Ensure draft equipment is cleaned and serviced regularly
  • Conduct performance reviews with direct reports
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility and equipment
  • Update and maintain POS terminals

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience managing a restaurant/taproom
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • In-depth knowledge of the restaurant/craft beer industry
  • Previous event management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and delegation skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and attentive to quality
  • Confident, team-oriented management style
  • Must have Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certification and TIPS Certification
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. and move up to 165 lbs.
